Senior Commercial Manager – Data Centres – Portugal

We are currently partnering with a globally present Main Contractor who specialise in Industrial, Data Centre, Pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to join their team in Portugal and take ownership of the commercial element of this Data Centre construction project.

Responsibilities

•   Commercial Leadership & Strategy
Lead the development and execution of the project’s commercial strategy, ensuring all commercial activities, financial targets, and governance processes support the successful delivery of a large-scale data centre project in Portugal.
•   Cost Management, Reporting & Forecasting
Oversee full project cost control, including budget management, cost planning, forecasting, and financial reporting, while proactively identifying commercial risks and opportunities to maintain cost certainty.
•   Procurement & Contract Administration
Manage procurement activities and subcontractor engagements, including tendering, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and the administration of variations, claims, and contractual documentation.
•   Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary commercial interface with the client and key stakeholders, leading commercial meetings, ensuring transparent communication, and resolving commercial issues to protect project and company interests.
•   Team Leadership & Development
Provide leadership, guidance, and performance management to the commercial team, promoting best practices, maintaining compliance with procedures and legal requirements, and driving continuous commercial improvement.

Requirements

Must have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
Must have relevant degree level qualifications
Must have EU Passport or RTW in Portugal
